Justin Lofton Kentucky RACE REPORT
No. 6 Lofton Cattle Chevrolet Silverado
> JUSTIN LOFTON NOTCHES ANOTHER TOP-10 FINISH IN KENTUCKY
Justin Lofton and the No. 6 Weekend Warriors Productions/Lofton Cattle Chevrolet team brought home a top-10 finish in the Kentucky 201 on Friday night. The team worked to fine-tune the handling of their Chevrolet most of the day, but as the laps wound down at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway, the Weekend Warriors Productions/Lofton Cattle crew had their truck handling just as they wanted and had planned the pit strategy needed for a seventh-place finish.
With a prediction for 100% chance of rain, teams throughout the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) garage began working on developing their strategy for the Kentucky 201. Lofton rolled off 14th at Kentucky Speedway, and was one of the first competitors to come down pit road. He brought the Weekend Warriors Productions/Lofton Cattle Chevrolet in for fuel and a chassis adjustment during the lap 16 caution, and made a lone stop again during the lap 35 caution for four tires and fuel. The strategy allowed Lofton to pick up maximum track position as his competitors continued to pit just one caution period after him, and by the lap 51 restart, Lofton was scored in the third position.
With the No. 6 Weekend Warriors Productions/Lofton Cattle Chevrolet pushing the nose a little, Lofton continued to log laps around the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway avoiding all the accidents in a caution-filled event. He maintained his position inside the top 10 until returning to pit road during the lap 81 caution when he came in for four tires and a chassis adjustment moving him just outside the top 10.
During the closing laps of the Kentucky 201, crew chief Dan Bormann called Lofton down pit road one last time during the lap 108 caution for right side tires. Lofton restarted the race back in the 14th position, but with newer tires the championship contender was able to pick up seven positions during the final 25 laps to cross the finish line in the seventh position.
"The Weekend Warriors Productions/Lofton Cattle Chevrolet team had a good run at Kentucky," commented Lofton. "This is a critical time in our run for the championship, and we're all focused 100% on the task at hand. We hoped to gain more points going into Las Vegas, but we are where we are. I can assure you that in the remaining six races we will be doing everything that we can to be competitive for the win."
The NCWTS will take on Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, September 29th. Live coverage of the Smith's 350 will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90. Justin Lofton Kentucky Speedway Event Preview
No. 6 Lofton Cattle Chevrolet Silverado
> Back to the Bluegrass State... Justin Lofton and the No. 6 Lofton Cattle team return to Kentucky Speedway to compete in Friday night's Kentucky 201. Earlier this season, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) championship contender overcame adversity to bring home a 14th-place finish at the 1.5-mile speedway. Lofton rolled off 10th and worked closely with the Lofton Cattle team to fine-tune the handling of their Chevrolet early in the 150-lap race. Nearing the halfway point, Lofton was in an intense three-wide battle when a wreck broke out in front of him and the No. 6 machine was left with no way to escape. Lofton's machine suffered right side damage, but was able to be repaired over several pit stops. By lap 111, Lofton was the recipient of the lucky dog award to rejoin the lead lap of competition. Back in contention, Lofton picked up several positions to be scored 14th by the time the checkered flag waved.
> Racing his favorite truck... Lofton will pilot his favorite truck, chassis No. 060, during the Kentucky 201 at Kentucky Speedway. It is the same chassis that Lofton drove to his first-career NCTWS victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, and wheeled to his first series' pole award at Chicagoland Speedway in July.
> Tough to beat... Entering last week's American Ethanol 200, Lofton had been the only driver to complete every lap in the 2012 NCWTS season. Unfortunately, a lap 94 accident ended that streak and gave Lofton his first DNF in 15 races this season.
> Fighting for the Championship... With seven races scheduled over the next nine weeks, the battle is on for the NCWTS championship. Lofton enters the Kentucky 201 at Kentucky Speedway in the seventh position, just 50 points out of the championship point lead, and four points behind sixth place. The 26-year-old led the standings through three events earlier this season, and notched both his first career win and first career pole during a career-best year.
> Meet Justin Lofton...Lofton, driver of the No. 6 Lofton Cattle Chevrolet, will participate in the NCWTS autograph session on Friday afternoon at Kentucky Speedway. Fans are invited to the concourse at 3 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon to meet Lofton and his Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) teammates Cale Gale and Max Gresham and the rest of the NCWTS competitors for autographs and photos.

From the Driver's Seat: Justin Lofton Quotes...
On getting back in the truck at Kentucky: "I'm excited to run my 'favorite' truck this week. She [chassis no. 60] has been very good to me, and no matter how much I abuse her [referring to his truck at the Chicagoland Speedway incident], she keeps coming back to me."

From the Pit Box:
Crew Chief
Dan Bormann Quotes...
On getting past Iowa and preparing for Kentucky: "We suffered our first DNF of the year last weekend at Iowa Speedway, and Justin is very anxious to get back in the truck. However, we aren't taking just any truck in the ESR stable, we're taking chassis No. 60-Justin's favorite. This is the race-winning truck from Charlotte; it is the pole-sitting truck from Chicago. It's the top-performing truck that we have, and we feel like it's the right one to get the Lofton Cattle team back on top." |

No. 6 Lofton Cattle Chevrolet Truck Information
The No. 6 Lofton Cattle Chevrolet team will compete with chassis No. 060 as their primary truck at Kentucky Speedway. It is the same chassis the team utilized earlier this season at Chicagoland Speedway. In that event, Lofton earned his first career pole to lead the field to the green. Spending the majority of the race in the top 10, Lofton led several laps before being eliminated from contention by late-race contact. The incident relegated Lofton to a 21st-place finishing position.
