GALE 25th AT KENTUCKY AFTER CONTACT SPINS NO. 33 INTO WALL

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado

> Cale Gale finished in the 25th position at Kentucky Speedway on Thursday night after a late-race incident sent him spinning into the inside wall. With damage to the truck, Gale brought the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado down pit road several times for repairs during the final 40 laps. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Rheem team, Gale was able to make it to the checkered flag.

Gale rolled off ninth for the UNOH 225 on Thursday evening at Kentucky Speedway. The track had loosened up since the hot afternoon practice sessions, and continued to loosen up as the race progressed. Gale ended practice a little bit on the tight side, but it didn't prove to be quite enough as he was loose early in the race. The Rheem team utilized an early caution on lap 18 to pit for fuel and a chassis adjustment. As the run progressed, the change didn't prove to be drastic enough and Gale asked the crew to tighten his truck once again.

Nearing the end of his fuel run, Gale came down pit road during the lap 63 caution. Crew chief Jerry Baxter made the call for a spring rubber change to tighten up the Rheem Chevrolet. The team refined on the setup even more with an air pressure adjustment during the lap 104 caution. Going into the final stretch of the race, Gale had four fresh tires and was very happy with how his truck handled on both ends of the track.

The driver of the Rheem Chevrolet spent the opening 100 laps inside the top 15 and looked to move into the top 10 during the final 50 laps. Going through turns one and two on lap 109, another competitor got loose inside of Gale and came up the track making contact with the Rheem Chevrolet. Gale's truck turned sideways, flattening the left rear tire, which ultimately resulted in Gale spinning around again and catching the inside retaining wall. Gale immediately brought the Rheem Chevrolet down pit road to the attention of his crew who put new tires on the truck, fixed the fenders as best they could, and realigned the toe. Gale visited pit road two subsequent times under green for additional repairs and adjustments. By the end of the event, Gale was scored in the 25th position.

"We were off a little bit at the beginning of the race with the handling of our No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet," commented Gale following the UNOH 225. "Jerry made some good adjustments throughout the race and we finally got it where we needed it. Unfortunately, we had a little contact and hit the inside wall pretty hard with the left side of our truck. The guys did a great job fixing our Rheem Chevrolet and getting me back out to finish the race. It definitely wasn't the finish we were looking for, but we improved throughout the night and did the best we could given the situation. I'm really looking forward to getting back to a short track and racing at Iowa Speedway in a couple weeks. It should be a good race for the Rheem Chevrolet."

Cale Gale Starting Ninth at Kentucky

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado

> Notes: On a hot afternoon in Kentucky, Cale Gale led the qualifying effort for Eddie Sharp Racing to secure the ninth starting position in the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. Teammate Justin Lofton will start along side him in 10th place for tonight's UNOH 225. Gale was a little tight during his qualifying run, but the Rheem team still believe that will benefit them as the track loosens up during the race this evening. Lofton's No. 6 College Complete Chevrolet was looser than the driver had anticipated. He fought it all the way around the track, but when he hit the bump between turns one and two on his second lap, his truck moved sideways and the driver made a great save to continue on his lap.

Live coverage of the UNOH 225 will broadcast live on SPEED, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, TONIGHT at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Cale Gale Kentucky Practice Notes

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado

> Notes: There were no incidents involving the No. 6 or 33 entries during either practice session.

> Cale Gale and the No. 33 Rheem team endured two hot practice sessions this afternoon at Kentucky Speedway. The Rheem Chevrolet was quick off the hauler, but with a rough track the team needed to dial in the handling to allow Gale to run wide open while traveling across the bumps. Initially dealing with a loose Silverado, the Rheem team worked to tighten Gale's truck with a variety of spring and shock changes and finally hit on something near the end of the second practice session. Happy with the handling, Gale attempted to make a qualifying run at the end of the second practice session. Unfortunately the Rheem Chevrolet was unable to get the clear run they needed for a practice qualifying run, and as a result finished the final practice in the 17th position behind several drivers who had made mock runs.

> QUOTES:
Cale Gale, No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet: "We unloaded with a fast Rheem Chevrolet and were pretty happy with the handling. Jerry and all the guys worked really hard throughout the two practice sessions to improve our truck even more and find a balance that will also be good tonight. We started final practice pretty loose, but ended the session a bit on the tighter side. This track usually loosens up at night, so I think we'll be good for the race tonight. It's really hot here today and we're working off pit road, but the Rheem team is still giving me 110%--I can't thank them enough for all their hard work."

> TV COVERAGE:
Tune in to SPEED at 5:00 p.m. ET today for qualifying from Kentucky Speedway. Live coverage of the UNOH 225 will broadcast live on SPEED, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, TONIGHT at 7:30 p.m. ET.

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado News and Notes

> Back to Kentucky...Cale Gale will make his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at Kentucky Speedway this weekend in the UNOH 225. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender last competed at the 1.5-mile track in October 2011, when he started in the 24th position and raced to a 15th-place finish. Gale also has two NASCAR Nationwide Series starts (best start: eighth, best finish: 13th) and one Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) start (start: 12th, finish: second) at Kentucky Speedway.

> Finding Momentum...Gale entered the sixth race of the 2012 season at Dover (Del.) International Speedway ("The Monster Mile") still searching for his first top 10 of the year. In his first career start at The Monster Mile, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender was able to draw on his short-track racing experience to overcome an early spin and race to a fifth-place finish in the rain-shortened event, picking up his first top five of the season. Gale followed up the career-best run with an eighth-place finish the following week at Texas Motor Speedway to record back-to-back top-10 finishes for the first time in his NCWTS career. Gale and the No. 33 Rheem team hope to continue to build on that momentum this week at Kentucky Speedway.

> Taking on the World Crown...Gale will make his third appearance in the World Crown 300 at Gresham (Ga.) Motorsports Park on Wednesday, July 4th. Gale, who currently holds the track record for a super late model, will be racing the No. 83 Rheem Chevrolet super late model for Gale Force. The 29th annual World Crown 300 will consist of three separate segments, with added drama from pit stops and inversions at the conclusion of each section. Grandstands open for the prestigious super late model event at 12:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 4th. Practice is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. ET, and qualifying will follow at 4:45 p.m. ET. Opening ceremonies will begin at 5:25 p.m. ET, and fireworks to celebrate Independence Day will close the evening following the races.

> Race for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year... Gale continues to hold his ground ranking second in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year rankings. Currently 35 points behind leader Ty Dillon, Gale was named the "Sunoco Rookie of the Race" at Dover International Speedway earlier this month.

> Picking Up Points... With back-to-back top-10 finishes, Gale has been making up ground in the point standings over the past few NCWTS events. Following his eighth-place run at Texas Motor Speedway, Gale picked up four positions in the NCWTS Owner Points standings to be ranked 12th, just 17 points outside the top 10. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender also picked up two positions in the driver standings to be ranked 11th among the NCWTS competitors.

From the Driver's Seat: Cale Gale Quotes...

On racing at Kentucky Speedway: "Kentucky Speedway is a track that has a lot of character. It's a rough track with a lot of bumps. It seems like the fast way around the track is around the bottom, but the groove seems to move up as the day goes on, especially in turns one and two. By the end of the night there will be multiple grooves and a lot of side-by-side racing. The guys have put in a lot of time and effort to make sure that our Rheem Chevrolet is as strong as possible. It's a fun track for the drivers, and I think we'll be able to put on a really great show for the fans."

On what to look forward to as the summer heats up: "I'm really looking forward to getting into the summer months because it means that we're finally getting to the point of the season where we're racing every week. I'll be in the No. 83 Rheem Chevrolet for the World Crown on the Fourth of July down at Gresham Motorsports Park. From there, it's really focusing on the Truck Series, and our schedule there. We'll finally be to the point where we have a lot of back-to-back races, so we need to have a good game plan on which trucks we're using when to make sure that everything runs smoothly. We've all been working very hard to make sure that everything we have is the best we can get it-we want to continue building our program and getting our Rheem Chevrolet stronger each and every week."

From the Pit Box: Crew Chief Jerry Baxter Quotes...

On what to expect from the No. 33 Rheem team at Kentucky Speedway: "The Rheem team will be racing the same truck that we raced in Dover and tested at Nashville. We've run well with this chassis in the past and we're excited to take it back to the track. The track at Kentucky Speedway is extremely rough-it's probably the second roughest track that we go to-and getting your truck to handle well while going over the bumps is definitely the key to success. We went to the seven post a week ago to get the Rheem Chevrolet ready for the race; we spent a lot of time working on it to make sure that it can travel over the bumps. It's another race where we practice during the day and race at night. We need to dial in the Rheem Chevrolet during practice, but also remember that the track will free up at night just like it did in Texas."
