Lofton Educates Kentucky Crowd On Not Giving Up, Tallies 14th Place Finish After Wreck

No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Chevrolet Silverado

> Justin Lofton drove the No. 6 College Complete Chevrolet home to a solid 14th place finish after getting caught up in a wreck in the UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway on Thursday night. Despite damage to the right side of his truck, Lofton dug in to reclaim as many positions as possible in order to remain in the championship hunt.

"This is what can make or break a championship run, overcoming adversity like that. We've had a lot of luck this year so far, and unfortunately, we got the wrong end of it tonight," Lofton said. "We started off real loose so we had to hold on for a while. The track was just really rough and it made things dicey out there."

Lofton took the green flag for the 150-lap race from the 10th position. His qualifying effort was intense after his No. 6 College Complete Silverado broke loose on the second lap of his run. Once the green flag waved, Lofton continued to battle his machine, before getting a break courtesy of the first caution flag on lap 18. He pulled his truck onto pit road, taking on two right side tires and a slight adjustment to help the handling condition.

Back on track, Lofton, the points leader entering the race, maintained a spot within the top-five before the time came for another round of pitstops. Under the second stop, the team swapped out all four tires.

Once the restart waved, the competition got dicey, and with trucks scattering three-wide around the 1.5-mile track, Lofton dropped back a few positions. With a slick and bumpy track providing a competitive race, Lofton had nowhere to go as a multi-truck wreck broke out in the midst of the intense battle on lap 70 off of turn 1.

After suffering right side damage to his College Complete ride, he made multiple pit stops for repairs to the tow of the truck, before returning to the track one lap down. After battling just outside of the top-20 due to the damage, a break came by way of a caution flag on lap 111. The yellow provided Lofton with the wave around to rejoin the lead lap.

With over 30 laps to go, Lofton was able to regain multiple positions, ending the night in the 14th spot.

Lofton and the entire College Complete team will observe an off week before heading to Iowa Speedway on July 14th. He enters the event second in the series point standings, just four markers out of the top spot.

Justin Lofton Starting Tenth at Kentucky

No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Chevrolet Silverado

> Notes: On a hot afternoon in Kentucky, Cale Gale led the qualifying effort for Eddie Sharp Racing to secure the ninth starting position in the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. Teammate Justin Lofton will start along side him in 10th place for tonight's UNOH 225. Gale was a little tight during his qualifying run, but the Rheem team still believe that will benefit them as the track loosens up during the race this evening. Lofton's No. 6 College Complete Chevrolet was looser than the driver had anticipated. He fought it all the way around the track, but when he hit the bump between turns one and two on his second lap, his truck moved sideways and the driver made a great save to continue on his lap.

Justin Lofton Kentucky Practice Notes

No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Chevrolet Silverado

> Notes: There were no incidents involving the No. 6 or 33 entries during either practice session.

> Justin Lofton and the No. 6 College Complete team unloaded off the hauler extremely quick posting lap times inside the top-three, but due to the rough track service Lofton was unable to run wide open until the team dialed in the handling. Throughout the opening session, the team made a few drastic changes to measure their reaction on Lofton's Silverado, but ultimately decided to go back to the basics and return to their initial setup by the end of the session. Midway through the final practice, the College Complete team hit on a setup that suited Lofton's driving style and the team decided to make a mock qualifying run. Unfortunately Lofton was unable to get a clean run in to see the capabilities of his truck during qualifying. In a session where many drivers had made mock runs, Lofton was still able to post a respectable 12th-place lap.

> QUOTES:
Justin Lofton, No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Chevrolet: "Just like when I was back in school, sometimes you have to go back to the basics--that's what we did today. We think that the track will race a lot different tonight than it was during the two hot practice sessions this afternoon. We're confident that it will be a good night for the College Complete Chevrolet."

> TV COVERAGE:
Tune in to SPEED at 5:00 p.m. ET today for qualifying from Kentucky Speedway. Live coverage of the UNOH 225 will broadcast live on SPEED, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, TONIGHT at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Lofton Gets Schooled, Returns To The Track Looking For Another Win

> HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -  After coming off another top-10 finish in Texas where it felt like one slipped away, Justin Lofton used the off week to take advice from his sponsor CollegeComplete.com and take some classes. To be more specific, he attended Rally Driving School in New Hampshire, learning skills that will help him both on the track and in his off-road racing.

This week Lofton visits Kentucky, as he leads the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) point standings with his No. 6 College Complete (http://www.collegecomplete.com or 877-543-2655) ESR team by the way of a race win, three top-five, and seven top-10 finishes.

"The last year has been great," Lofton summarized. "Since returning to ESR, everything has continued to get better. The support of Chevrolet, Richard Childress, ECR (Earnhardt Childress Racing), and of course the group that we have built at ESR is amazing. The guys work hard, and it's all
paid off."

Lofton has been working tirelessly this season promoting the Free Education Advice that his sponsor CollegeComplete.com offers. As yet another break in the season came about, he decided to fill his time expanding his knowledge and show once again that there is always room to learn more.

With his reaction skills improved after 4 days at Rally School, Lofton is heading to the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway this week. He will be driving the same No. 6 College Complete Chevrolet that he pulled into victory lane at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

"Kentucky is one of those places that you have to be on the wheel. It is a lot of fun to drive. It's fast and flat. We've had the speed all year, so it should be another good one for us."

Lofton will hit the track behind the wheel of his College Complete Chevrolet Silverado on Thursday, June 28th with a full schedule of practice, qualifying, and the UNOH 225 race set to begin just after 8 PM eastern time.
