Mobile, Ala. native Cale Gale showed promise from the start of his racing career, earning championships in both super-stock and late model racing at Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway. Gale's racing career began at the age of four when his father placed him into a go-kart and he won the first race he entered. One year later, Gale began racing competitively at Mobile Motorsports Park in Kushla, Ala., and went on to win five races that season. The following year, at the age of six, Gale raced a full schedule, winning 25 feature races and the track championship. Gale continued with his winning ways picking up track championships, state go-kart championships, and rookie of the year honors along every step of the way. In 2002 at the age of 17, the third generation racer became the first driver in track history to simultaneously earn both the rookie of the year honors and the late model championship at Mobile International Speedway. Throughout his racing career, Gale’s perseverance and determination have helped carry his success into the ranks of NASCAR. In 2006, Gale competed in four Nationwide Series and three Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) races, winning at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill., in just his second ARCA start on July 28. Following his ARCA win at Gateway, Gale got his first taste of the NASCAR Nationwide Series that same year when James Finch decided to give him a chance after allowing the driver to test in both his Nationwide and Cup Series cars. Gale went on to race inside the top-10, and caught the attention of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and team owner Kevin Harvick. Over the next three and a half years, Gale participated in the NASCAR Nationwide, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and ARCA Series for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI). The young driver made his debut with the team at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park at the end of the 2006 season. His 25th-place finish was enough to earn him a spot as a co-driver on KHI’s No. 2 Chevrolet truck for the 2007 season. Entering the 2008 season, Gale was poised for another great year as he joined Harvick, Hornaday and Ryan Newman in the driver seat for the No. 33 Chevrolet for 10 races and piloted the No. 77 Chevrolet for three races in the Nationwide Series. While competing for Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors, Gale scored his first career pole (Bristol Motor Speedway), earned his career-best finish (fourth place at Bristol Motor Speedway) and earned three top-10 finishes. In addition, he scored top Raybestos Rookie of the Race in seven of his 13 starts. As the economic downturn took its toll on the motorsports world, Gale continued as a co-driver for several of KHI’s programs and utilized the opportunity to become a shock specialist. In 2009, Gale returned to the seat of the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet for one race, and competed in five NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races with Rheem Canada backing the program. Meanwhile, the young racer also worked as a shock specialist on KHI’s Camping World Truck Series program. By 2010, Gale grew his trade to build shocks for several race teams in the Nationwide and Truck Series and began his own racing shock and consulting company, Velocity Racing Suspensions. Throughout 2011, Gale continued to race in several Late Model divisions as well as starting six races in the Camping World Truck Series for KHI. Shortly after achieving his career best finish in the Camping World Truck Series (seventh place at Martinsville Speedway), Gale announced that he would join forces with Eddie Sharp Racing and Rheem for his first full-season of NASCAR competition. The trio will compete for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship, as Gale also contends for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. Defining Moments…
